Apple's 3nm A18 chipset will likely power the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.

KEY POINTS
Though its most popular product, the iPhone, is scheduled to debut later this year, Apple is getting ready to introduce the Vision Pro mixed reality headset next month. There have already been a number of leaks and rumours about the iPhone 16, including claims of bigger screens, better cameras, AI capabilities, and a dedicated button for recording video. According to a recent report, among other enhancements, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will include quicker Wi-Fi and more RAM.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will run on Apple's 3nm A18 chipset, according to a 9To5Mac rumour that references a research note from analyst Jeff Pu. On the other side, the A18 Pro CPU will power the Pro versions in the lineup.
Additionally, RAM for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus is being increased. The 8GB of RAM that the two phones are expected to receive is an upgrade from the 6GB of RAM that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus already have. Furthermore, the Qualcomm X70 modem, which is available on the whole iPhone 15 series, will be included in the two non-pro variants, whereas the Qualcomm X75 modem will be included in the iPhone 16 Pro models. Accordingly, 5G speeds may be faster on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max than they are on the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
The analyst claims that the two non-pro iPhone 16 models will also acquire support for Wi-Fi 6E, which is only available on the iPhone 15 pro models right now and offers faster Wi-Fi connections. According to the source, the pro models may receive support for the recently released Wi-Fi 7.
An improved ultra-wide camera with a predicted resolution increase from 12-megapixel to 48-megapixel may also be included in the next iPhone 16 Pro. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, too, had made similar assertions earlier this month, suggesting the pro versions would feature a bigger ultra-wide sensor. Additionally, Kuo had stated that the iPhone 16 Pro would receive a tetraprism telephoto lens in order to match the Pro Max model's optical zoom capabilities.
Earlier this month, Barclays reduced Apple's shares from "neutral" to "underweight," erasing almost $100 billion (about Rs. 8,33,210 crore) in market value due to their prediction that demand for the iPhone 16 would likely drop.
However, in order to entice users to upgrade from existing iPhones, Apple is probably going to fill its upcoming smartphones with features and enhancements. The iPhone 16 Pro model is expected to have a 6.27-inch (159.31 mm) display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to have a 6.85-inch (174.06 mm) screen. The iPhone 16 Pro versions are expected to have larger displays. Compared to the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, respectively, this would be an improvement.
