The forthcoming flagships from Samsung have been in the news a lot due to multiple leaks before their launch later this month. Samsung's flagship phone for the year, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, is anticipated to do away with a significant design feature that has been present in Samsung phones for at least eight years. The leak verifies that Samsung is definitely giving up on curved displays for its flagship products and provides an up-close look at the device's flat display.




Although the decision is hardly shocking, some devoted fans may be disappointed. Phones with curved displays were primarily designed for aesthetic purposes, which led to durability problems. Screen protectors are harder to come by and curved screens are more prone to cracking. Moreover, phones with curved displays have a thinner frame.



Chinese smartphone manufacturers still provide curved displays on their newest models, despite the fact that Google and Samsung have been moving away from them in their flagship phones. The OnePlus 12, OPPO Find X7 Ultra, and Vivo X100 Pro are a few recent examples.


In the meantime, companies like HONOUR and Xiaomi are ahead of the curve and choosing quad-curved screens. For the first time, Xiaomi's midrange phones in India now have curved displays thanks to the Redmi Note 13 series.


Global release of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is scheduled for February 17. There will be a real-world event in the US. For the series in India, the South Korean corporation has already begun accepting pre-reservations. It is likely to be on sale within a week after the launch ceremony as the corporation concentrates on enhancing its Q1 2024 revenues.
