According to a trustworthy analyst, Apple's first wearable spatial computer, the impending Apple Vision Pro, may sell out quickly after it launches next month. The manufacturer of iPhones has revealed that the mixed reality headset will go on sale at the company's US retail outlets on February 2, which is two weeks after consumers can place preorders for it. VisionOS, a new operating system created just for viewing immersive apps and content on the Apple Vision Pro, will power Apple's pricey mixed-reality headset.
Apple is estimated to be producing between 60,000 and 80,000 units for the first shipment of the next Apple Vision Pro, according to TF Securities International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The analyst predicts that the mixed reality headset will sell out quickly following its February 2 introduction because of its restricted supply.
Although the cost of Apple's Vision Pro headset is exorbitant ($3,499, or approximately Rs. 2.90 lakh) in the US, Kuo notes that Apple has not yet determined the product's placement or primary uses. Apple demonstrated some of the headset's features during its brief WWDC 2023 announcement. In a video presentation, people could be shown utilising the headset to see photos, make FaceTime conversations, watch movies, work, and surf the Internet.
Kuo claims that during the presentation, users were given the impression that they could "control the user interface with their mind" thanks to Apple's innovative technology, which makes use of a variety of sensors and cameras. Given this impression and the fact that many people use Apple products, the Vision Pro may sell out when it is released next month.
The high-resolution dual Micro-OLED displays on Apple's Vision Pro headgear, which was unveiled at WWDC 2023 last year, enable both virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) content. Additionally, the headset has Apple's EyeSight technology, which, when in augmented reality mode, may display the wearer's eyes visually.
Apple's M2 chip, which is combined with a new R1 chip based on the company's second-generation M-series processor, powers the Vision Pro. There are twelve cameras, six microphones, and five sensors on the device. When the Vision Pro is released in the US, customers who wear spectacles can buy Zeiss optical inserts to enable them to use the device. Regarding plans to release the headset in other areas, such as India, Apple has not provided any information.
